It’s paper and a piece of music which is now tattooed on my heart.

Hope you like it.

Helped Rosanna put up shelves with the great innuendo  in her new place, south of the river,  they look most powerful and balls will not roll off  them, she makes the best puttanesca ever eaten and lives near some amazing Soame buildings and charity shops.  I reckon it’s pretty likely I will visit again soon 🙂 Had great curry Friday night with Takako and Matt, turns out tokyo story is still a reasonably accurate portrayal of Japan though perhaps not Toyko? After we went to see Rohan and Iris and had such a cosy and content night. Me and Rohan very happily reminisced, Iris and Jon excitedly talked about the future and before we left we watched “my new best friend”  Mark Wooton is the biz.
Been quiet on here because I spent the rest of the weekend editing my wee animation, got half way, all is well then got 2 thirds along and the program quit. There is no auto save, after several minutes of quiet reflection I started again and now save at every second.  I’m busy next few days but I’m gonna try to finish it in the evenings so I’ll upload it soon. Prepare to be razzledazzled.

yuck

Went to see them play their first gig, wow lots of people there and the sound was good. They are half of what was Cajun Dance Party. I really liked it, If I had to describe the sound I would say sort of teenage fanclub, swervedriver, senseless things with some 60s mowtown and 70s pop feeling all twinkled together – with Daniel’s lovely singing he has a neato tone and what I heard of the lyrics made me smile. Yes I reckon everyone there was smiling which means YUCK!

Me and Rosanna went to see this movie as part of cheap (soon to be renamed just affordable) Tuesdays at the BFI. What a fantastic place. Anyway the movie was like nothing I’ve seen, I felt calm, stressed, peaceful, sad, tight chested, content and extremely sad all at the same time. The only times the family touched each other throughout all the events was when the wonderful widowed daughter in law (the only person interested in the one time visit by the countryside dwelling elder parents to Tokyo played bu the amazing Setsuko Hara ) touched the hand of the elder Mum. The kids got patted a few times but otherwise it was all done in the silences and looks. Oh my I felt drained after, I totally loved the experience though. I don’t want to explain the whole story but there was lot of disappointment in it as well as a fab few scenes where the elder Dad gets drunk on Sake with old pals and they end up being bought back to the daughters home/hairdressers and falling a sleep in the hairdressing chairs. I would totally recommend this movie to anyone and I’ve found a new favourite actress. According to the interweb Setsuko Hara stopped acting as when the director died much to the anger of the Japanese public and also saw her brother killed on a film set. She also shared her birthday with Rosanna so maybe we can toast her too next time. I’d love to see her in another role – the eternal virgin.

I can’t put into words how amazing my brother is. The important thing is he knows I think that, which I know he does.

In addition to his being the best brother and friend he also is an amazing artist. You can find a link to his work at the side but this is a page from the last book he illustrated. Anna and the witch’s bottle, he did prints which are available to buy too alongside the book.  They are beautiful.
